HairColorGPT is the first AI-powered virtual assistant designed exclusively for hair professionals. It helps hairdressers and colourists analyse hair photos, generate colour formulas, solve technical doubts, and deliver a better service to their clients — all through a simple chat interface.
Muss ich etwas herunterladen?
No. HairColorGPT is a web-based service — there is nothing to install. Just register and access it from any modern browser on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Wie registriere ich mich?
Click "Register" on the homepage, enter your details (or sign in with Google, Facebook, or Instagram), and choose whether to start with the free trial or a paid plan. You will receive a confirmation email immediately — check your spam or promotions folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.
Kann ich HairColorGPT auf mehreren Geräten verwenden?
Yes. You can log in from your salon computer, smartphone, or tablet using the same credentials. Your conversation history and settings sync across all devices.
Does the service work outside my country?
Yes. HairColorGPT is available worldwide — you only need an internet connection. The interface supports multiple languages.
Who is HairColorGPT for?
HairColorGPT is designed for professional hairdressers, colourists, salon owners, and beauty school students aged 18 or older. It is not intended for consumer (at-home) use.
Free Trial & Subscription Plans
Can I try HairColorGPT for free?
Yes. Every new account gets a 4-day free trial with access to core features including AI chat and a limited number of photo analyses. No credit card is required to start. After the trial period ends, you will need to upgrade to a paid plan to continue using the service.
Does the free trial expire?
Yes. The free trial lasts 4 days from the date of registration. After it expires, your account is paused until you subscribe to a paid plan. Your data and conversation history are preserved.
What subscription plans are available?
We offer three paid plans billed monthly:
- Plus (€19/month) — Ideal for individual colourists. Includes a generous monthly token allocation for AI chat and photo analysis.
- PRO (€29/month) — For busy professionals who need more analyses and advanced features like voice input (speech-to-text).
- PRO+ (€39/month) — For salons and teams. Includes team seats, the highest token allocation, and priority support.

What are tokens, and how do they work?
Tokens are credits that measure your usage of AI-powered features. Each photo analysis, formula generation, or voice-to-text transcription consumes a certain number of tokens. Every plan includes a monthly token allocation. Unused tokens do not roll over — they reset at the start of each billing cycle. If you run out before the month ends, you can upgrade your plan to get more immediately.
What happens if I run out of tokens?
If you exhaust your monthly tokens, you can either wait for your allocation to reset at the start of your next billing cycle, or upgrade to a higher plan for immediate access to more tokens.
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Go to your account settings and select a new plan. Upgrades take effect immediately (you'll be charged the prorated difference). Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle — you keep access to your current plan's features until then.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Log into your account, go to Einstellungen, and click "Cancel subscription." Your cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access to paid features until that date. There are no penalties or lock-in contracts.
Can I get a refund?
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). To exercise this right, contact us at info@staging.haircolorgpt.com before the withdrawal period expires. Outside this statutory period, subscription fees already paid are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.
Wie funktionieren Zahlungen?
All payments are securely processed by Stripe, a PCI-certified payment provider. You can pay with Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. All prices are in Euros (€). Subscriptions renew automatically each month and can be cancelled at any time.
Will I be notified before a price change?
Yes. We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any price change takes effect. If you do not agree with the new pricing, you can cancel your subscription before the change applies.
How It Works
How does the AI photo analysis work?
Upload a photo of your client's hair directly in the chat, along with a description of the desired result. Our AI analyses the photo — evaluating the current colour, condition, and tone — and suggests a tailored formula with specific products from leading professional brands. The analysis typically takes just a few seconds.

You can ask about colour formulas, lightening and toning techniques, product recommendations for specific brands, colour correction strategies, common salon colouring problems, and practical tips. Think of it as a knowledgeable colleague available 24/7.
Can I get formulas for specific brands (Wella, L'Oréal, etc.)?
Yes. HairColorGPT is trained on the colour lines and techniques of major salon brands, including Wella, L'Oréal, Schwarzkopf, Alfaparf, Goldwell, Matrix, and many others. You can request brand-specific formulas.
What is voice input (speech-to-text)?
On PRO and PRO+ plans, you can use voice input to dictate your questions instead of typing. Your speech is transcribed to text using an AI service (Deepgram) and then processed as a normal chat message. Voice recordings are used solely for transcription and are not stored after processing.
How accurate are the AI formulas?
HairColorGPT's AI is trained on thousands of real formulas, use cases, and official brand guidelines. However, AI-generated formulas are professional suggestions, not guarantees. Results can be affected by photo lighting, camera quality, screen calibration, and individual hair characteristics that are not visible in a photo. Always use your professional judgement before applying any formula to a client. HairColorGPT is an assistant — it does not replace a qualified colourist's expertise.
Does the AI replace the colourist's work?
No. HairColorGPT is a tool that helps you save time and make more informed decisions. The final assessment, formula adjustments, and application are always the professional's responsibility.
Is the system updated with the latest trends?
Yes. We regularly update our AI models and product databases to reflect the latest colour trends, techniques, and brand innovations.
Photo Tips & Best Practices
What kind of photos work best?
For the most accurate analysis:
- Use natural daylight whenever possible — avoid direct sunlight, fluorescent lights, or warm-toned lamps that alter colour perception.
- Take photos at close range showing the hair clearly, including roots and lengths.
- Avoid heavy filters or editing — the AI needs the real colour to give accurate results.
- Include multiple angles if the colour varies (e.g., roots vs. mid-lengths vs. ends).
- Make sure the photo is in focus and not blurry.
Can I upload photos of my client?
Yes, but you must have your client's consent before uploading their photo. If the photo shows identifiable features (face), please be aware that the photo is sent to our AI processing partner for analysis. Faces are automatically blurred when displayed in public chat areas, but the original (unblurred) photo is sent for AI processing. See our Datenschutz Policy for details on how photos are handled.
What file formats and sizes are supported?
You can upload JPEG, PNG, and HEIC images. For best results, use photos that are at least 1 megapixel. Very large files may take slightly longer to process.
Are my photos stored permanently?
Photos are stored on a dedicated, access-restricted server separate from the main website. They are used to provide the service and are retained in accordance with our Datenschutz Policy. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
Team Accounts (PRO+)
What is a team account?
The PRO+ plan includes team functionality, allowing a salon owner or manager (the Team Administrator) to invite other team members to share the subscription. Each team member gets their own login and conversation history.
How many team members can I add?
The number of team seats depends on your PRO+ plan configuration. Check the Pricing page for current seat limits.
What does the Team Administrator control?
The Team Administrator can invite and remove team members, and manages the subscription and billing. Each team member is responsible for their own conversations and uploads.
What happens to team members' data if the administrator cancels?
If the Team Administrator cancels the subscription, all team members lose access at the end of the current billing period. Individual team members can request an export of their personal data independently, in accordance with our Datenschutz Policy.
Datenschutz & Security
Sind meine Daten und hochgeladenen Fotos sicher?
We take data protection seriously. All connections are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Photos are stored on a dedicated server with restricted access, separate from the main website. Faces in photos are automatically blurred when displayed in any public area of the service. For complete details, read our Datenschutz Policy.
Do you sell or share my data?
We never sell your data. However, to provide the service, your photos and text are processed by trusted AI technology partners under strict data protection agreements:
- OpenAI — analyses hair photos to generate colour formulas (servers in the USA)
- DeepL — translates text to support multiple languages (servers in Germany/EU)
- Deepgram — transcribes voice input to text, if you use the speech-to-text feature (servers in the USA)
These partners process your data solely to deliver the service and are contractually bound by data protection agreements (including EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable). They do not use your data for their own purposes. Payments are processed by Stripe.
What happens to photos sent for AI analysis?
When you upload a photo, it is sent to our AI partner (OpenAI) for colour analysis. The AI returns the analysis results, and the original photo is stored on our dedicated server. Faces are blurred for any public display, but the unblurred photo is used during AI processing as a technical necessity to provide accurate results.
Do you use cookies?
Yes, we use essential cookies to keep you logged in and provide the service. We also use analytics cookies to understand how the service is used. You can manage your cookie preferences through the cookie banner when you first visit the site. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Can I request deletion of my data?
Yes. Under the GDPR and other applicable data protection laws, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To make a request, email info@staging.haircolorgpt.com or use the relevant options in your account settings. We will respond within 30 days.
Is HairColorGPT GDPR compliant?
Yes. We are based in the European Union (Italy) and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For international data transfers to AI partners in the USA, we rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Datenschutz Framework. Account & Troubleshooting
Wie kann ich mein Konto verwalten oder löschen?
Log into your account, go to Einstellungen, and you can edit your personal information, change your plan, or delete your account. Account deletion is permanent — make sure to export any data you need before proceeding.

Go to the Anmelden page and click "Forgot password?". Enter your email address, and you will receive a link to set a new password. The link expires after 24 hours.
I'm not receiving emails (confirmation, password reset, notifications). What should I do?
First, check your Spam, Junk, or Promotions folder. If you still don't see the email, make sure you registered with the correct address. If the problem persists, email us at support@staging.haircolorgpt.com and we'll help right away.
The AI gave me an unexpected or inaccurate formula. What should I do?
AI results depend heavily on photo quality, lighting, and the information you provide. Try uploading a clearer photo taken in natural light, and include more detail about the client's hair history (previous treatments, natural base level, desired result). Remember that AI formulas are starting points — always verify with your professional experience. If you believe the result is significantly wrong, let us know at support@staging.haircolorgpt.com so we can improve.
The chat is slow or not responding. What can I do?
Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. If you're on a slow internet connection, responses may take a bit longer — especially for photo analyses. If the problem persists, try a different browser or device. Kontakt support@staging.haircolorgpt.com if the issue continues.
Can I export my conversation history?
Currently, conversations are accessible through your account. If you need an export of your data for any reason, contact us at info@staging.haircolorgpt.com and we will provide it in accordance with your data access rights.

What law governs the service?
The service is governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence, and you may bring legal proceedings in the courts of your Member State.
Do I have a right of withdrawal after purchasing?

If you have already consented to the immediate provision of the digital service and the service has been fully performed, you acknowledge that the right of withdrawal may no longer apply.
